A NEW SPIN ON THE STORY OF THE GOOD SAMARTIAN

We all know the written PARABLE in God's Word of The Good Samartian...  Below the original that is written I have shared only using TODAY CURRENT TERMINOLOGY and what it would be like in today's world with this story...

I wanted to put a 'spin' on this parable to share what it would be like today in today's world.

This is the original:

Luke 10:25-37
New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Good Samaritan
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Now for the SPIN on this parable...

There was a Messianic Jewish Rabbi whom lived in Jerusalem Israel.  He suffered geatly from even his own jewish people inside of Jerusalem for they dispised anyone whom had accepted YESHUA as Messiah.  But this Messianic Jewish Rabbi was very well known around Jerusalem.  Those whom truly knew him, loved him for he was very kind hearted and he often would give even the shirt on his own back if someone needed it more than he...

One day as he was walking down a street - a mob of young men from Gaza decided to beat this Messianic Jewish Rabbi and steal from him.  So they beat him so badly that he layed in a pool of his own blood with his face down on the street.  His face had been crushed and he was dying.

A very educated Pharisee JEW saw the entire incident occur but because he knew that this Jewish Rabbi was Messianic and had accepted YESHUA - he decided to walk on the other side of the street and pretend he did not see anything happen.  He walked by very fast to be sure no one noticed him.

Another JEWISH Levite Priest was walking toward the beaten man that had been left for dead, but he too recognized that this was the Messianic Jewish Rabbi.... This JEWISH Levite Priest had even gone to the Messianc Jewish Priest when he and his family needed some food.  But because he did not accept the ways of the Messianic Believers of accepting YESHUA - He too walked on the other side pretending not to see his own JEWISH people laying in a pool of his own blood.

Then a young man came by, He too was hated by the JEWISH PEOPLE for he was an outcast since He was an Arab and was originally from Iran. The JEWISH people in Jerusalem hated this man because he looked Arab, so they judged his heart from his looks from the outside.  This young man grew up in a muslim family but he himself became agnostic for he could not understand why a GOD would hate so much as within the Islam ways.  So he wanted nothing to do with this kind of GOD..   But because he looked and spoke arabic and also his native language of Persian, and also he spoke Hebrew, this man was only a stranger in the midst... he was shunned from all.   This young man had a very gentle and kind heart...

When this young man, whom did not know the MESSIANIC JEWISH RABBI (for he was only a stranger), he saw the JEWISH man laying on the streets, almost to the point of death...

His heart cried for this dying man so he picked up the dying JEWISH man, and carried him to the nearest hospital setting to get the help that the man needed to live.  This young ARAB Iranian man stayed by this strangers side until this MESSIANIC JEWISH man got the help he needed.

The Iranian man also told the hospital personnel, I do not know this man, but I want to be responsible for him and I will pay you all and any costs that it takes to bring this JEWISH man back to life and to health and I will pay you in full when I return back from my business trip.

WHOM did what GOD would want them to do?

Did the RELIGIOUS JEWISH PRIESTS do what God would want them to do?  To judge and point their fingers at everyone else.... to even hate this stranger whom was from the Arab world from Iran...

Or did the young Iranian man that was hated by all JEWISH people because he was Arab and from Iran, but even as a stranger this young Arab man did more to demonstrate GOD's heart to the beaten stranger then those whom had studied GOD'S WORD for a life time but never shared GOD's word to others with actions (For actions speak louder than words.)

Please beloved people... Please do not come against your OWN PEOPLE regardless if Messianic Jews or Jews or Christians or Arabs or human beings....

Even in Christian churches we place others on the outside and ask them to leave if the person is BROKEN, rather than helping the BROKEN to find freedom and HEALING.  (This happened in my own life of being asked to leave because my brokenness was too much for the same women's bible group so they placed me on the outside and told me to come back when I got better.)

We are all made out of the same ingredients called CLAY (DUST) and to DUST we all will go back.

Please value human beings - no matter who they are.... for we all have sinned, we all have failed, we all have turned our backs from GOD... but the only way people will want to know anything about GOD is that they see LOVE poured out to others, including strangers...

What good does it do to know all of GOD'S WORD but not living by His Word... and showing GOD's AGAPE LOVE and MERCY to those from within whom are broken - let alone to those on the outside of our walls...

Please go and do likewise as the STRANGER ....

JEWS WHOM ARE AGAINST EVEN THEIR OWN PEOPLE (FELLOW JEWS) IN ISRAEL... WHY LORD... WHY...

Please watch to the left.

THE WRITTEN PROPHECIES OF ISRAEL AND EVERY NATION SHALL COME AGAINST ISRAEL

In the end, all nations shall come against Israel.

Zech 14:2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped.

By far, the greatest number of prophecies in the Bible concern the nation of Israel. In fact, many have said that if you want to know what time it is on God's clock, then look at the nation of Israel, for she shall be the center of attention in the fulfillment of Bible prophecies in these last days. Today we live in an age when the entire focus of the world is upon a tiny strip of land in the Middle East called Israel. So lets have a look at what Bible prophecy says about this nation.

1. Disobedience would lead to the nation of Israel being scattered amongst all nations.

Deut 28:64 'Then the LORD will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other.'

See also Lev 26:33, Jer 9:16, Ezek 12:15. In all, 6 different books of the Bible predict the scattering of Israel amongst all the nations of the earth. History records this being fulfilled in 70 AD when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman Empire and the remaining Jews were scattered amongst the nations.

2. No rest for their souls while in exile amongst the nations

Deut 28:65-66 Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.'

For nearly 2000 years following the destruction in 70AD, the 'wandering Jew' has lived without a homeland, subject to the strongest racial prejudice and torment suffered by any people group. From the day they were scattered to the day Hitler devised his 'final solution to the Jewish problem', this prophecy spoken by Moses has sadly been fulfilled.

3. God himself would restore the Jews to the land of Israel from all the nations

Jer 16:14-16 However, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "when men will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their forefathers.

In all, 13 books of the Bible speak of the nation of Israel being restored in their land from the nations in which they were scattered. This prophecy became history in 1948 when the United Nations granted a homeland to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel was reborn! See also Jer 3:14, 31:8-9, Isa 60:8-9, Deut 30:3, Amos 9:15.

4. The desolate land of Israel would again blossom and be fruitful in the last days.

Zech 7:14 I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land was left so desolate behind them that no one could come or go. This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.

History records that while the Jewish people were exiled amongst many nations, the land of Israel was a barren desert. See also Lev 26:14, Ezek 15:8, Jer 9:12-13, 23:10, 44:22, Isa 32:13

Isa 27:6 In the days to come, Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill the world with fruit.

This is exactly the case today! Not only has God bought the Jewish people back into their land like He said He would in the last days, but He has also blessed the land so that they now export flowers and fruit around the world! Satellite photos show the green pastures of the nation of Israel, in sharp contrast with the surrounding desert lands of the Arab nations. See also Isa 35:1, Ezek 36:35.

5. God Himself would defend Israel and cause Israel to be mighty in battle

Zech 12:8 On that day the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them.

Taken in context, this verse speaks about God defending Israel in a battle to come in the last days. Have we not seen this miraculously occur several times since Israel became a nation again in 1948. They have been greatly outnumbered in key Arab-Israeli wars in 1948, 1967, and 1973. Yet Israel exists! God has seen to that!

6. In the last days, Jerusalem would be a burden to the entire world.

Zech 12:2-3 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about... And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces.

Turn on your TV and watch the news. What nation and what city would you most likely expect to see? Israel and Jerusalem! Today, Jerusalem is a burden that causes trembling for all the nations just as God foretold. What makes this prophecy even more remarkable is that when the prophet Zechariah spoke these words around 520BC, Jerusalem lay in ruins. But God said it would become the focus of the world's attention! Today, Israel has 0.01% of the worlds population, yet 33% of the United Nations resolutions have been passed concerning her!

7. In the end, all nations shall come against Israel.

Zech 14:2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped.

Apart from the USA, Israel has few allies. In a recent conference on racism in South Africa, the Israeli and United States delegates were forced to walk out as the other participating nations vented their anger towards Israel and tried to declare it a racist state. One day, the Bible predicts, she will have no allies, and all nations shall be gathered against her. The TV news will show you that we are on the road towards that battle. But if the odds seem a little uneven, please read the next prophecy that the Bible predicts...

8. God Himself, Jesus Christ, will return and fight for Israel against the attacking nations.

Zech 14:3-4 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

You may have heard of this battle to come. It's called the battle of Armageddon because of the location where the nations assemble themselves before attacking. The book of Revelation puts it like this...

Rev 16:14-16 They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty... Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

Revelation also prophecies the return of Jesus Christ on this day saying...

Rev 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.

9. The nation of Israel will finally recognize that Jesus was their Messiah, whom they crucified!

Zech 12:9-10 On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

What a day that will be! Even though the Bible predicted that the Messiah would die, and have His feet and hands pierced, the nation of Israel has, for the last 2000 years, hardened their heart and not believed that Jesus was their Messiah. At the time of the end, they will again look to the one whom they pierced and oh how great the mourning and sadness will be on that day for what they did! Yet Jesus will pour out His grace upon Israel!

10. God will judge the nations depending upon their treatment of the Jewish people.

Joel 1:1-2 In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.

Today we live in an age where we hear all the time about a 'Middle-East peace process'. It essentially comes down to 'Israel give up more of your land and we won't send as many suicide bombers into your cities...' It seems everyone wants a slice of Jerusalem for themselves. For this, and the world's repeated and continual abysmal treatment of the Jewish people, the judgment of God will come.

These prophecies are not vague like Nostradamus or modern day 'so-called' psychics. They are detailed and specific in their application. Time and space does not permit us to go into the many other prophecies concerning the nation of Israel. Yet such things as a false peace, the rebuilding of the third Jewish temple, and a coming great persecution of the Jewish people under a world leader have all been prophesied. It will all take place because God has said it.

Prophecies Concerning The Nation of Israel

In the end, all nations shall come against Israel.

THE AMAZING MERCY OF GOD TO THOSE WHOM TRULY WALK IN FEAR OF GOD

Mercy

Eph 2:3-5 (NIV) ...Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.

  • A good way to understand the meaning of mercy is to see how it relates to grace:
    1. Mercy--not getting what you do deserve / withheld punishment
    2. Grace--getting what you don't deserve / unmerited favor

  • Mercy is like a judge finding you guilty, but then withholding any punishment. Grace is getting something you could never have imagined. An inexplicable gift. It's like the same judge awarding you $10,000,000.00, after finding you guilty!

  • In this sense, mercy can be thought of as the opposite of grace, or perhaps more correctly--the inverse. The words are normally used in Scripture as defined, though occasionally the distinctions are blurred. In Greek as in English, mercy can also mean pity or compassion. (The King James Version, for example, often translated the word love as mercy.) For the purpose of this study, we will focus on mercy as "not getting what is deserved" in the here and now. Ex 33:19 (NIV) ..."I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

  • God forgives all confessed sin. By grace we are saved and "put right with" him. But will He intervene to withhold earthly consequences? Will He show mercy? How many times? Even after we know better? Let's look through Scripture to see why, when, and if God doesn't give some of us what we deserve. Lam 3:39 (NIV) Why should any living man complain when punished for his sins?
Jer 21:14 (NIV) "I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the Lord."
Num 32:23 (NIV) "...You may be sure your sin will find you out."

  • Is God ineffective at making "sure our sin finds us out"? Are we really getting away with it? Can we continue to count on God's mercy if we remain unrepentant?

Why Does A Holy God Let Us Get Away With Sin?

Rom 2:4 (LB) Don't you realize how patient he is being with you: Or don't you care? Can't you see that he has been waiting all this time without punishing you, to give you time to turn from your sin? His kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.
Rom 2:4 (Phi) Are you, perhaps, misinterpreting God's generosity and patient mercy towards you as weakness on his part? Don't you realize that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
2 Pet 3:15 (Jer) Think of the Lord's patience as your opportunity to be saved.

When We See Just How Far God Will Go...

  • Think of how much mercy God has given us. Most of us have never contracted herpes, AIDS, or gotten pregnant out of wedlock! We've miraculously avoided accidents we deserved due to reckless, inattentive, even drunk driving. And so on. God's angels must be working overtime administering His mercy. 1 Tim 5:24 (Phi) Remember that some men's faults are obvious, and are equally obviously bringing them to judgment. The sins of other men are not apparent, but are dogging them, nevertheless, under the surface.
Job 33:27-30 (NIV) ..."I sinned and perverted what was right, but I did not get what I deserved. He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light of life." God does all these things to a man--twice, even three times--to turn back his soul from the pit, that the light of life may shine on him."
Prov 28:13 (NIV) He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

God's Mercy Is Vast And Amazing

Ezra 9:13 (NIV) "What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins have deserved... Shall we again break your commands...?"
1 Tim 1:13 (Jer) Even though I used to be a blasphemer and did all I could to injure and discredit the faith. Mercy, however, was shown me, because until I became a believer I had been acting in ignorance.
1 Tim 1:15-16 (Phi) ...I realize that I was the worst of them all, and that because of this very fact God was particularly merciful to me. It was a demonstration of the extent of Christ's patience towards the worst of men, to serve as an example to all who in the future should trust him for eternal life.
Heb 4:16 (Phi) Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with fullest confidence, that we may receive mercy for our failures and grace to help in the hour of need.
Ps 103:8,10-14 (NIV) The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love... He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgression from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
Micah 7:18 (NIV) Who is a God like you, who pardons sins and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

    Who Needs Mercy?

Rom 3:23-27 (Jer) Both Jew and pagan sinned and forfeited God's glory, and both are justified through the free gift of his grace by being redeemed in Christ Jesus who was appointed by God to sacrifice his life so as to win reconciliation through faith. In this way God makes his justice known; first, for the past, when sins went unpunished because he held his hand, then, for the present age, by showing positively that he is just, and that he justifies everyone who believes in Jesus. So what becomes of our boasts? There is no room for them...
Rom 11:30-32 (Phi) Just as in the past you [pagans] were disobedient but have found that mercy which might have been theirs [the Jews] but for their disobedience, so they, who at the present moment are disobedient, will eventually share the mercy that has been extended to you. God has all men penned together in the prison of disobedience, that he may have mercy upon them all.

Flirting With Disaster; Taking God's Mercy For Granted

Rom 2:5 (Phi) Or are you by your obstinate refusal to repent simply storing up for yourself an experience of the wrath of God in the day of his anger when he shows his hand in righteous judgment?
Rom 2:5 (Jer) Your stubborn refusal to repent is only adding to the anger God will have toward you on that day of anger when his just judgments will be made known.
Rom 1:32 (Jer) They know what God's verdict is: that those who behave like this deserve to die--and yet they do it; and what is worse, encourage others to do the same.
Gal 6:7 (Phi) Don't be under any illusion: you can not make a fool of God! A man's harvest in life will depend entirely on what he sows.
Rom 11:22 (Phi) You must try to appreciate both the kindness and the strict justice of God. Those who fell experienced the justice, while you are experiencing his kindness, and will continue to do so as long as you do not abuse that kindness...

    When Mercy Is Not Granted

  • Grace is unlimited, and forever, and we will focus on it in a separate study. Mercy, in the sense we mean, is vast but limited, and will end in either: 1) Repentance leading to salvation by grace, or 2) stored-up wrath and eternal punishment.

  • In the meantime, God is calling us out of mercy and into obedience. Eventually it dawns on all of us that we cannot "get away with" unrepentant sin. It's as if God gradually withdraws his mercy after we have come to a knowledge of the truth. God's mercy has served it's purpose, now it is time for obedience. 1 Pet 4:17-18 (Jer) The time has come for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if what we know now is only the beginning, what will it be when it comes down to those who refuse to believe God's Good News?

  • While evil men go from bad to worse, we can no longer even get away with sins of omission! (Jam 4:17) Like children, we object: "Everyone else is doing it!", or "I used to be able to!"--when God "meddles with our affairs". Some of us have already experienced the dramatic extent of how far God will go to form "Christ in us". When the fear of God hits us, our prayers for deliverance from sin are finally answered--God literally scares the hell out of us! Have you experienced this? Think what it would mean if we really could "get away with" sin! Heb 12:6-8 (KJV) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Rom 12:1 (Jer) Think of God's mercy, my brothers, and worship him, I beg you, in a way that is worthy of thinking beings, by offering your living bodies as a holy sacrifice, truly pleasing to God.
Ex 34:6-7 (NIV) ..."The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the wicked unpunished... "

Identification With The Sufferings Of Others

Rom 9:15 (NIV) ..."I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

  • Occasionally God chooses not to grant us mercy; for the purpose of judgment, rebuke, discipline, or testing. Fortunately, for most of us, this is the exception, not the rule. For the time being, God has shown incredible patience and mercy by withholding most of the effects of our sins. Luke 23:40-41 (NIV) ..."Don't you fear God?" he said... "We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."

  • If God chooses to give us or someone we know "what we deserve", how should we respond? If it is us, fear and repentance cannot be achieved too quickly. If to anyone else, we have an occasion to voluntarily share in the sufferings that we have been mercifully spared. Why would we willfully do this, if God hasn't made us suffer for our sins? Because by sharing their sorrows we can voluntarily feel what we in fact deserve ourselves, and can help restore them. And given our tendencies, who knows but that we may be next? Jude 23 (NIV) Snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear...
Gal 6:1-2 (NIV) Brothers, if a man is trapped in some sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself; you may also be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

The Parable of The Unmerciful Servant

Mat 18:23-27 (NIV) "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go."
Mat 18:28-31 (NIV) "But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened."
Mat 18:32-35 (NIV) "Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from the heart."
Micah 6:8 (NIV) He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Luke 1:50 (NIV) "His mercy extends to those who fear him..."
  • THE FEAR OF GOD

    The Fear of God

Jer 5:22 (NIV) "Should you not fear me?" declares the Lord. "Should you not tremble in my presence?"

  • In Hebrew, yirah (Jon 1:16, Ps 90:11), yare (above, Mal 3:16) and pachad (Job 3:25a, Ps 119:120) mean reverent fear, terror, or dread, normally translated simply fear. There are other words in Hebrew for mere respect, reverence, or honor, such as kabad (Ex 20:12). In Greek fear/terror is phobo (Mat 28:4,1 Pet 2:17c), where reverence or honor is timao (1 Pet 2:17a/d).

  • With this distinction in both Hebrew and Greek, some still assert that "fear merely means reverence." As if God through His Spirit could not select the right word hundreds of times! Some would prefer to believe this than to understand that God really ought to be feared.

  • Why is it we will not accept the fear of God? Why do we try to "explain away" the fear of God in Scripture? What is it in our unconscious minds that creeps up when the Spirit leads us into the revelation of the fear of God?

  • Consider The Wizard Of Oz

  • The needy pilgrims are encouraged to follow a "yellow brick road", or is it a gold street (Rev 21:21)? In any case, it is a narrow path (Mt 7:14) with distractions aplenty, which finally leads to an Emerald City on a hill, complete with a gate keeper (popular Christian myth). All this to see the great and fearful Oz. Oz, of course, turns out to be a fake. The only real power is wielded by the witches, and once the endearing old Oz is dispatched in a balloon, the real battle begins between the good witches and bad witches. Hmmm...
Is The Wizard of Oz a harmless children's story, or a satire of Christianity? (Job 1:1) Consider the mockery of the praise songs, even the "needs" of the pilgrims (Mr 12:30). Even if Christians have lacked discernment, the world hasn't: Elton John sings, "Good-bye yellow brick road, where the dogs of society howl."; America sings, "Oz never did give nothin' to the Tin-man; that he didn't, didn't already have."
Small wonder we try to "explain away" the fear of God when we have such lies rattling around in our heads! Something deep within us says, "It's all an illusion." "Surely, behind the curtain over there, there must be a cute little man pulling levers to make all the smoke and flames." "If we really knew, we'd see that God is just a gentle con-man, who means well, but is really harmless."
Do we know the revealed God of Scripture, or do we believe in a God who is kind of like Oz? We must realize how effective Satan is at lying, and repent, or our knowledge of God will remain flawed. Will we fear God? We must take these thoughts captive with the weapons given us.

Destroying False Notions & Encountering God... Really

2 Cor 10:4-5 (TEB) The weapons we use in our fight... destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments; we pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ. [Isa 11:2-3]
2 Tim 3:16-17 (TEB) All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instructions for right living, so that the man who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good work.
2 Cor 5:11 (NIV) Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men...
Ps 34:11 (NEB) Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Ps 89:7 (NIV) In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared.

    Satan, The Bogey Man

Ps 76:4,7 (NIV) You [O God] are resplendent with light... You alone are to be feared.

  • If we fear anything other than God, we are deceived. God is the only thing in the universe worthy of fear. Satan, of course, would disagree and has made an industry out generating bogus fear. His weapons are horror movies, anxieties, worries, nightmares, phobias, panic attacks, demons, etc. Satan wants the fear due God. To be sure, Satan is truly a terrifying master to those under his care, but those "in Christ" have been purchased from his mastery and need not fear him any longer. Whenever it is in our power, we should cut off any access Satan has to our minds or hearts to plant bogus fear. Isa 8:12-13 (NIV) ...Do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.
Mat 10:28 (NIV) [Jesus] "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
Luke 12:4-5 (Jer) "To you my friends I say: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. I will tell you whom to fear; fear him who, after he has killed, has the power to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."

    Fear And Sovereignty

  • In Scripture and experience, the fear of God is closely linked to the revelation of His sovereignty. Job 23:13-16 (NIV) "But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? He does whatever he pleases. He carries out his decree against me, and many such plans he still has in store. That is why I am terrified before him; when I think of all this, I fear him. God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me."

    Fear And Wisdom

Ps 111:10 (NEB) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and they who live by it grow in understanding...
Prov 9:10 (NEB) The first step to wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

    Fear And Sin

John 15:2 (TEB) "He breaks off every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and prunes every branch that does bear fruit, so that it will be clean and bear more fruit."
2 Cor 7:1 (Jer) With promises like these made to us, dear brothers, let us wash off all that can soil either body or spirit, to reach perfection of holiness in the fear of God.
Prov 8:13 (NIV) To fear the Lord is to hate evil.

    Fear And Repentance

Prov 16:6 (NEB) ...the fear of the Lord makes men turn from evil.
Job 28:28 (NEB) ..."The fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to turn from evil is understanding."

    Fear And Blessings

Ps 25:12-14 (NEB) If there is any man who fears the Lord, he shall be shown the path that he should choose; he shall enjoy lasting prosperity, and his children after him shall inherit the land. The Lord confides his purposes to those who fear him, and his covenant is theirs to know.
Prov 14:26-27 (NIV) He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.
Ps 34:9 (NEB) Fear the Lord, all you his holy people; for those who fear him lack nothing.
Prov 19:23 (NEB) The fear of the Lord is life; he who is full of it will rest untouched by evil.

    Fear And Punishment

Rom 11:22 (Phi) You must try to appreciate both the kindness and the strict justice of God.

  • One of the ways we fear God is to fear punishment. This kind of godly fear will taper off as we are perfected in love. But for now, the fear of God will keep us from evil. 1 Jn 3:2 (NIV) Dear friends, now we are children of God...
Prov 22:15 (NIV) Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.
Prov 3:11-12 (NEB) My son, do not spurn the Lord's correction, or take offense at his reproof; for those who he loves the Lord reproves, and he punishes a favorite son.
Ps 23:4 (NIV) ...your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

    Fear And Love

  • The fear of the Lord may be the beginning of wisdom, but the end is love. Love is our hope, our goal, our sure destiny as believers. If we are obedient, we will get close to it while still in this world. In the meantime, we fear now, because none of us is yet without sin or perfect in love. 1 Jn 4:17-18 (Jer) Love will come to its perfection in us when we can face the day of Judgment without fear; because even in this world we become as he is. In love there can be no fear, but fear is driven out by perfect love: because to fear is to expect punishment, and anyone who is afraid is still imperfect in love.
1 Pet 1:17 (RSV) And if you invoke as Father him who judges each one impartially according to his deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile.
Ps 118:4 (NIV) Let those who fear the LORD say: "His love endures forever."

The Wrong Kind Of Fear: Shrinking Back

  • "Too good to be true," we say. This saying illuminates a deep human wound, for we have been burned by every one of our false gods and false loves and false hopes, or soon will be. Since everything else but God really is a sham, our instincts have been trained into suspicion. We hold back, we hedge, we plot our retreat, we lower our expectations. So when we encounter God--who alone is worthy of our trust--we shrink back in the one moment, with the one person, in the one hope that we should abandon ourselves to. Indeed, our wound is serious. Who will heal us?

    The Terrifying Love Of God

Phil 2:12-13 (NIV) ...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

  • We should not fear that God will let us down, or that He is not faithful, or just, or forgiving. In fact, His intense determination to make us holy (so that we can be with Him forever) is cause for the right kind of godly fear: that He will NOT quit sanctifying us when, in our opinion, we are good enough. God is the ultimate perfectionist, and He will get what He wants. And if that is us, it is fearful to realize just how far He will go. He is the potter, and He intends vessels of holiness. No, we need not fear that God will fail us or give up on us, but rather that He is indeed faithful to finish what He has started. Heb 10:31 (KJV) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

To Encounter The Living God, Then And Now

Heb 12:18-24 (Phi) You have not had to approach things which your senses could experience as they did in the old days--flaming fire, black darkness, rushing wind and out of it a trumpet-blast, a voice speaking human words. So terrible was that voice that those who heard it begged and prayed that it might say no more. For what it had already commanded was more than they could bear... So fearful was the spectacle that Moses cried out, "I am terrified and tremble!" No... You have drawn near to God, the judge of all, to the souls of good men made perfect, and to Jesus, mediator of a new agreement, to that cleansing blood which tells a better story than the blood of Abel.
Heb 12:25-29 (Phi) So be sure you do not refuse to hear the voice that speaks. For if they who refused to hear those who spoke to them on earth did not escape, how little chance of escape is there for us if we refuse to hear the One who speaks from Heaven. Then his voice shook the earth, but now he promises: "Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven." This means that in this final "shaking" all that is impermanent will be removed, that is, everything that is merely "made", and only the unshakable things will remain. Since then, we have been given a kingdom that is "unshakable", let us serve God with thankfulness in the ways which please him, but always with reverence and holy fear. For it is perfectly true that our God is a burning fire.
Ps 19:9 (NIV) The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.

  • Mike Yaconelli: "We have defanged the tiger of truth. We have tamed the lion... The tragedy of modern faith is that we no longer are capable of being terrified." Acts 5:13 (NIV) No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.

  • Mike Yaconelli: "I would like to suggest that the Church become a place of terror again; a place where God continually has to tell us, "Fear not"; a place where our relationship with God is not a simple belief or a doctrine or theology, it is God's burning presence in our lives. I am suggesting that the tame God of relevance be replaced by the God whose very presence shatters our egos into dust, burns our sin into ashes, and strips us naked to reveal the real person within. The Church needs to become a gloriously dangerous place where nothing is safe in God's presence except us. Nothing--including our plans, our agendas, our priorities, our politics, our money, our security, our comfort, our possessions, our needs.

  • "Our world is... longing to see people whose God is big and holy and frightening and gentle and tender... and ours; a God whose love frightens us into His strong and powerful arms where He longs to whisper those terrifying words, 'I love you.'"

THE IMPACT OF THE UNITED NATIONS - AN EVIL ONE GLOBAL WORLD EMPIRE SOON TO COME ON THIS EARTH... ARE YOU READY!!!!

THE IMPACT OF THE UNITED NATIONS, AN EVIL ONE GLOBAL WORLD EMPIRE
What I received in prayer in early January 2011 regarding the United Nations, ACLU, ISLAM, and the GLOBAL ONE WORLD EMPIRE

by Jane Fairchild on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 2:09pm
As I had prayed in January this is what I kept receiving in my spirit.

America (society), America, full of pride, self, greed, power, and politics for all the world to see.

America prideful in having it all...
    .
Greed of a nation will bring great poverty to a nation
America, America, had a great fall (such as worst than the fall of the Roman Empire)
and ALL the world will see.

America, America sat on a wall. America, America, had a great fall.

And all the KINGS and KINGS MEN of the entire world of all other nations, will not be able to put AMERICA back together again.

Because of this great fall of the American Empire and the vast affect from this fall will have on the entire world - the United Nations will arise bringing in a ONE WORLD GLOBAL GOVERNMENT and ONE WORLD GLOBAL money system and a ONE WORLD GLOBAL IDEOLOGY (RELIGION) OF ISLAM...  under Shari'a Law of the entire world system.

United Nations will bring in the ONE GLOBAL WORLD GOVERNMENT AND LEADER
United Nations building (will become the Anti-Christ headquarters for the world)

There will be great world chaos, global famine, fear, and global wars... and the United Nations will appoint a one man that does a miracle with PEACE in the world and many will follow this man as the MESSIAH for the great miracles and signs that he will have power with.

ACLU (American Center Liberties Union will be in high support of this person.) and ACLU will come against all Christian Believers, and Jewish people and anything pertaining to GOD.  (Yes, ACLU is already doing this... but as time closes in ACLU will become violent toward Believers and will take away more and more rights of Christian Believers ...

But BEWARE of this power for this power is of the full ANTI-CHRIST SPIRIT...

The MAN that arises in the United Nations will be very religious and very high up in the ISLAM Ideology as a Muslim, and He (This man in the United Nations) will become the ONE WORLD GLOBAL LEADER/DICTATOR of the entire ONE WORLD GLOBAL GOVERNMENT through the UNITED NATIONS.  This ONE MAN will have great powers and perform many miracle signs and will bring what seems like PEACE in the Middle East...  and many people will follow him and believe in his powers.

But beware this is the beginning of DESTRUCTION.

The ISLAM highest cleric will come into power in the United Nations as a ONE WORLD GLOBAL LEADER/DICTATOR

This man whom arises up through the United Nations (ONE WORLD GLOBAL GOVERNMENT) will be the Anti-Christ and this ONE MAN will be worst than Hitler as this man hates anything or anyone linked to God, and he hates ALL Christian Believers, he will hate the nation of ISRAEL, and he will hate all Jews.... and he will greatly HATE all Christian Believers in Jesus Christ.

The BELIEVERS CRIME will only be that we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and we will not bow to any other man.  (Such as in Daniel, when the King said that EVERYONE was to bow down to him as King, and Daniel and his 2 friends refused to bow as they said they would not bow to anyone else except God.  Because of this Daniel and his two friends were placed into a burning furnace.

Every NATION will rise up against ISRAEL, including America, and a DIRECT CURSE of God will come down upon America as a nation and our wings as an eagle that once flew in Liberty and Freedom will  be ripped off and we as a nation will not longer fly free as an eagle.... (an eagle cannot fly with their wings torn off.)

          QUESTION:

IF HITLER WAS MOVING INTO POWER TODAY THROUGH ALL HIS DECEPTION AND LIES - AND YOU KNEW WHAT WAS AHEAD THROUGH HITLER - WOULD YOU:

    1) DO NOTHING AND JUST LET IT HAPPEN: AND BURY YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND AND SAY 'GO AWAY'

    2) SHAKE HANDS AND JOIN IN TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND HITLER AND WORK WITH HIM TO GAIN PEACE (BUT THE REALITY IS THAT HE DOING THIS WITH YOU IS ALL A PLOY AND DECEPTION);

    3) STAND UP AND WARN THE PEOPLE THAT AN ENEMY IS MOVING IN THROUGH DECEPTION AND LIES

    WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Yes, we ALL have been ENEMIES of God in one time or another. We all have been GUILTY? ... Saul before God changed Saul's heart - he was a zealot and believed what he was doing was of God by killing any and all Christian Believers... but then God got a hold of Saul's heart and Saul became Paul and then many of the writings in the New Testament were written through Paul for the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST...

I realize and understand that we as CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS need to continually forgive and love our enemies, as even with someone as Saul.... To bless our enemies.

At the same time, do we not STAND UP and WARN people of the deceptions and lies...

The same can be applied to the truth of the great deceptions and lies that are written in the Quar'an for ISLAM. But ISLAM is an ENEMY that is going to destroy innocent human beings in this world if we DO NOT WARN PEOPLE of the truth behind the deceptions and the lies....

ISLAM is truly another HITLER as it rises into POWER and CONTROL GLOBALLY...  For just as COMMUNISM is a DICTATORSHIP of people... so is ISLAM which is our modern day COMMUNISM that is rising into power... For both have EMBRACED the ANTI-CHRIST SPIRIT...

ISLAM is not a religion but ISLAM is an IDEOLOGY of GOVERNMENT CONTROL AND POWER that people live under...

You can shake the hands of Hitler/Communism/Nazism/Islam all you want in trying to blend in and find common ground between these ANTI-CHRIST evils  - but there is no COMMON GROUND between the two...

This would be like God shaking hands and trying to find common ground to work peacefully with Satan... (Water and Oil)

I do and will NEVER HATE a person that is trapped in deception and lies of ISLAM IDEOLOGY...
If anything, my heart goes out to such a person... as WHY would anyone want to follow CONTROL of an other human being, even CONTROL OF WOMEN of what they should dress and do... I love the MUSLIM PERSON, always will, and am willing to always be there if any harm came there way as a human being... but I WILL NEVER WALK IN AGREEMENT with their ISLAM IDEOLOGY and their ISLAM WAYS AND TRADITIONS as their is no common ground....

ISLAM AND NAZI HISTORY (WORKED TOGETHER FOR ONE PURPOSE OF GETTING RID OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE)  See video:

Just as you could NEVER blend HITLER with the JEWISH PEOPLE... The same is with ISLAM - You can not MIX and BLEND ISLAM with CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS or JEWS...

ISLAM / COMMUNISM / NAZISM / are not friends...

"know who your real enemies are; or else your enemies will take control over you and your nation"

    The Evil Teachings of Islam

(Note: The MUSLIM person is not my enemy of my own heart at all... I would hug this person and have this person over for dinner without a problem... but ISLAM IDEOLOGY and it's practices is an enemy of this world for the future, as Communism is an enemy of this world through China)...... No difference.

Zechariah 14:2   2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.

God will bless those whom bless Israel, but He will curse those whom curse Israel

The WORLD GLOBAL LEADER/DICTATOR that arises out of the United Nations will be more EVIL than Hitler...

The people in the world will join in with him by thinking they are doing the 'right' thing by killing Christian Believers and the Jews (as it will be worst than Hitler)...

The world will clap and be happy that Christian Believers and Jews are all killed to give them a godless and lawless  ONE WORLD GLOBAL GOVERNMENT a world of great LAWLESSNESS.

What does ISLAM IDEOLOGY / COMMUNISM / NAZISM  and ACLU in America have in common - they HATE anything about the TRUE GOD and the CROSS and CHRISTIANS.

The CROSS is an OFFENSE to many....

Psalms 118:22 The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

Acts 4:11   For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.'

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone,” –1 Peter 2:4-7, NIV

    **********************

This will be the time that the TRUE CHRISTIANS will be SORTED from the Tares... and it will be a great sorting brought on through partaking  in the SUFFERINGS of Jesus Christ.

The BRIDE will become purified through this great time of suffering and the TRUE WHEAT will stand until the end.

Many, even the very elect, will fall away at this time and people's faith will fade away like never before... for this SORTING time will test the hearts, mind, and souls of those whom are within the 'church' today of whom truly is the REAL AND TRUE Lambs of God and whom is the wolves amongst the sheep... THE TRUE WHEAT, and the TARES (that grow up) with the WHEAT...

Matthew 10:22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Matthew 10:28  "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Romans 8:38-29  38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 11:37 Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword. Some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated.

We ALL will be SORTED - Just because we have lived in America does not make us immuned to what is going to happen in the near future.

On that terrible day, as in the Book of Daniel, we will be told to either deny JESUS (YESHUA) as our Lord (renounce HIM) and accept and embrace ISLAM or face being tortured and killed....  (as this is done in ARAB Nations today such as Egypt, Pakistan, India, Sierra, Iran and many many other nations) but this is coming to America too...  But fear not:

Matthew 10:28  "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell

In the END, after we depart from our short life here on earth - we will be with GOD ALMIGHTY.... and the NEW JERUSALEM in the NEW NATION OF ISRAEL under God Almighty will be our ETERNAL HOME ...

I know without a DOUBT that should I die tonight that I will be with my LORD JESUS for an eternity.... as it is through HIS BLOOD that has REDEEMED ME, FORGIVEN MY SINS (As he ws the final Lamb of GOD slain before the foundation of the world), and the BLOOD that is applied on the doorposts of my heart, soul, and mind.... and through HIS BLOOD I will enter into ETERNITY with the KING OF KINGS, and LORD OF LORDS, FOREVER AND EVER.....

There is not one person, or one human being on the face of this earth, whether Greek, Jewish, Christian, or any other human race that has NOT SINNED....  and there is only ONE WAY to GOD the Father.  If we claim that we are PERFECT without SIN because of how we were born as a people... then where is the boundaries of life... for this would mean that a pers..on could murder someone else and because they are 'CHOSEN' OF GOD then they have no penalty for sin.... But this is a lie... No one is exempt.

I John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Romans 3:23 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Even in the Days of Noah, only 8 people cross over to safety of GOD'S JUDGEMENT, only 8 people were saved for they listened and obeyed...  and there was only ONE DOOR to go through and then that one door was SEALED by GOD.....

Are you sure where you will be going if you should DIE tonight....  heaven or hell.

    Think about it.

That day is soon coming upon us... Are you ready?

Revelation 14:9-12 R.E. fate of those who succumb and take the mark

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
"Here [therefore, in contrast] is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus [implying that faith in Jesus must necessarily include hearkening to his warnings regarding the beast, etc...]."
Revelation 15:2-4 R.E. those who gain the victory

"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire [earth made into Celestial Urim & Thummin]: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for [in contrast to the satanic worship of the beast] all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest."
Revelation 16:1,2 R.E. vials of wrath, grievous sore on those who take the mark

"And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image."

Revelation 19:19-21 R.E. destruction of the beast & those deceived into taking his mark

"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."

Revelation 20:4 R.E. reward for those who do not take the mark of the beast

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."
